Animal Wisdom - Animal Spirit Dreams

Have you ever had a dream where a wild animal chased you? Maybe a bear was following you in a forest or a wolf snarled at you in your own living room.

Learn about your animal dreams...
Almost everyone has had an animal power dream. Maybe it was a wolf traveling through the woods, a tiger in the jungle or a vulture hovering above. And maybe you thought the animal was out to get you. So you ran the other way or woke up screaming thinking you just had a horrible nightmare.

Native American elders will tell you that someday soon you may have a dream where you meet your animal ally. He may tease you at first chasing you for a ways until he gets your attention. If you let him catch up to you, you might be surprised he only wants to be your special friend. He may have a lot to teach by the end of your dream, if you give him a chance.

In a dream, your animal may take you on a journey to a special place in nature. Or it may show up in your own backyard to greet you. You can ride on its back and travel together to beautiful places that you might never get to visit in real life. It will lend you its power, a supernatural power to soar through your fears.

Your animal ally's special power is protection when you really need it. It has the power to help you overcome your fears and the courage you need to succeed. Some animals carry healing power, healing you in the dream state when you are sick. Native American Indians teach that animal spirits bring "great medicine" for your soul through your dreams. This medicine can heal your spirit and make you feel more alive in your heart. Learn to trust the power of the animal that ventures into your dreams. It will protect and guide you in the future.

Write down your special animal power dreams in a special notebook or journal and share it with your parents and closest friends. They will honor your special dream and the close kinship that you developed with your ally. Then draw a picture of your animal ally. Or cut out a picture from a magazine and put it over your bed. This will remind everyone that your animal is around at all times. And it may even call him back into your dreams on another night.

You may have several animal allies who venture into your dreams from time to time. Its very likely you'll have more than one. In fact, most kids have three or four animal allies at their side from the moment they're born. They dream about them often. Think about what animal you would like a visit from and sure enough it will enter your dream soon.
